Welcome to the Event Martech Podcast. My name is Lee Jackson and I’m really excited to be kicking off this first show with you. In this podcast we’re going to be exploring technology and strategy to help market and deliver your event. That could be an exhibition, it could be a conference, it could also be a small meetup. Whatever events you are putting on this podcast is here to help. So what can you expect from the upcoming episodes? Well, we’re going to be doing a 10 to 20 minute episode. We really believe in the kind of sound bite information, so that’s short form content that will give you what you need with actionable advice. So we are focused on easy to consume content, those actions that you can take and providing some really helpful notes to go along with the episode. We want you to get to the end of each episode learning something new and being inspired to take action.

So as the name of the podcast suggests, we will be focusing on Event Martech, but we will be putting it into specific categories. So we will focus on marketing, we’ll be focusing on technology, we’ll also be focusing on the operational side of the business, which includes delivering the event and we’ll also be looking at self development. That’s your own personal self development and the development of your team. We understand that you want to have a good happy work life balance and you want to achieve your goals and dreams both personally and for the event. So we’ll be unpacking things like productivity and so much more. Now we’ll be publishing these episodes every single Wednesday at 11:00 AM here in London time, so that would be BST during the summer and GMT during the winter.

You probably want to know a little bit about me, the host. So let me give you some background as to what we are all about. My name is Lee Jackson. I am a young looking, hopefully 37 year old with two children and we live in a place called Northamptonshire in the UK. So we are essentially an hour from London and I work in a company called Event Engine. I am one of the co-founders and that’s a product that is focused on helping event organisers get their events online. What I also do in my other agency is I give consultancy and advice to agency owners all around the world and we actually have our own series of events both online as well as meetups. And last year I ran my very first conference, which was phenomenal. We actually bootstrapped the conference and got the online community into my hometown of Wellingborough where we met up at a venue and we had nearly a hundred people for eight two day conference with some fantastic speakers, including the likes of Troy Dean and Chris Ducker. So we had a phenomenal time. We’ve got amazing feedback and I learned so much over the last few years I’ve been developing podcasts and supporting companies around the world, both with their online strategy, with that content marketing and also with their event marketing planning. So I’m hoping that I can rock up with you every single week and add some value from the experiences that I’ve had over the last 15 years in the industry.
